The rules of Russian Checkers are straightforward yet engaging. Pieces move diagonally forward, while kings can traverse diagonally in any direction. Capturing an opponent's pieces is mandatory; once a piece is captured, it is removed from the board after the turn. If multiple capture opportunities arise, players must continue capturing until no further moves are available. Kings can land on any unoccupied square after successfully capturing an opponent’s piece, and once a checker reaches the last row, it is promoted to a king, gaining the ability to keep capturing.
One important rule to note is the Turkish strike rule, which prevents a capture if a beaten piece obstructs the path. Additionally, when faced with several capture options, players can choose how they wish to proceed.
